We build the tools that keep people safer at home.
OmaScan is built by a team of engineering students from Memorial University of Newfoundland, working alongside occupational therapists and clinicians across Canada. We build assessment tools so people can live safer, happier, and more independent lives at home.
Why we built this
Many of us grew up volunteering in long-term care homes and taking care of family members with accessibility challenges. Those early experiences gave us a clear realization:
Too many people lose their independence at home because the assessment process can’t keep up with the need.
We founded OmaScan to change that. It's a hard problem, and we're just getting started.

The name OmaScan comes from the word Oma, meaning grandmother. This project is dedicated to all our grandmothers and grandfathers who deserve dignity, safety, and independence as they age.
